About Us

Adopting a holistic approach to our business, Farmers Agri-Care works closely with all stakeholders to:

• Optimise yield potential for growers;
• Produce safe, quality food for consumers;
• And support sustainable agriculture in the interests of the environment.

Farmers Agri-Care is well represented throughout KwaZulu-Natal, in all regions where the five primary commercial crops are grown namely:

1. Sugar cane;
2. Summer row crops (maize, soya beans and dry beans);
3. Perennial orchard crops (macadamias, avocados, citrus, bananas and sub-tropical fruits);
4. Vegetables (complete spectrum);
5. Forestry (gum, pine and wattle).

VISION

At Farmers Agri-Care, we are serious about our role in feeding a population of 9.7-billion people by 2050. As such, we are changing the way we view our business.

As farmers move into the era of high-tech farming, there is an ever-increasing selection of products and practices that can influence crop performance and improve on-farm yields.

A significant part of agronomic research today is focused on providing solutions to the limiting biotic and abiotic stress factors that prevent crops from achieving their optimal yield potential. In line with the direction science is moving, Farmers Agri-Care has started its own YieldCare Programme, which is designed to develop crop-improvement strategies for growers to address these yield limiting stress factors.

The high-level concept behind the YieldCare Programme is about:

• Shifting grower focus away from Crop Protection, towards Crop Performance
• And shaping grower mind-set towards achieving optimal yield performance, rather than accepting average yields

On-farm, the YieldCare Programme is about:

• Establishing a long-term trial programme to generate proven in-field data
• Processing this data through digital tools in order to make informed in-season decisions
• That will enable growers to achieve predictable, on-farm yield improvement
